Donating to Edinburgh Garden Partners

We rely solely on voluntary contributions and grants from Charitable Trusts and Foundations to fund our work. No donation is ever too small.  All contributions enable us to continue providing valued support to elderly and/or vulnerable people across the city while increasing access to available growing space.

You can donate to EGP in several ways:

  • By cheque, made payable to ‘Edinburgh Garden Partners’ sent to our office at:

Osborne House

c/o Care & Repair

1 Osborne Terrace

Edinburgh

EH12 5HG

  • By bank transfer to our account:

Sort code : 60 – 83 – 01

Account no.: 20261081

(if donating by bank transfer please be sure to let us know about your donation so that we can identify it within our account and acknowledge your generosity).

  • Via Paypal by clicking on the button below (you don’t have to be registered with them to use the online payment).
  • Using the charity giving website BT MyDonate. Donate now.
  • Remembering EGP in your will

Possibly the most generous gift of all. Please see the information sheet below for details of how you can leave a legacy gift to EGP.

Thank you.

The following information may help you plan your ideas before visiting/speaking with your solicitor about including EGP in your will.

Our promise to you:

  •  We will always respect your privacy
  •  We won’t put you under pressure – it’s a big decision so please decide in your own time
  •  We’ll use your special gift wisely and effectively
  •  You don’t have to tell us how much you are leaving to us – we respect your right to privacy
  •  We’ll answer any questions you have honestly and quickly
  •  If you want your gift to be spent in an area that’s special to you or for a specific purpose, we’ll do our best to arrange it

What your gift could do:

£500 will fund places for 17 volunteers to attend basic horticultural training

£1,000 would pay for starter kits of tools and seeds for 60 garden shares

£5,000 would cover the costs of a Development Worker throughout the busy growing season

£10,000 would mean being able to extend our work by adding an extra day to each of our part-time Development Worker roles (currently 2 part-time posts of 3 days per week).

There are three main ways that you can leave a gift in your Will:

  • a share of your estate (residuary legacy)
  • a specific sum (pecuniary legacy)
  • a specific item

Legacy gifts are a vital source of funding for our charity’s work supporting elderly and/or vulnerable people in Edinburgh. If you choose to include Edinburgh Garden Partners in your will, please ask your solicitor to use one of the following suggested texts:

For a share of your estate: I give all/a share of (please state fraction/percentage) of the residue of my estate absolutely to Edinburgh Garden Partners, Osborne House, c/o Care & Repair, 1 Osborne Terrace, Edinburgh EH12 5HG, Registered Charity Number SC042164, to be applied by Edinburgh Garden Partners for its charitable purposes, and I further direct that the receipt on the Hon. Treasurer or any other proper officer of Edinburgh Garden Partners for the time being shall be sufficient discharge to my executors.

For a specific sum: I give to Edinburgh Garden Partners, Osborne House, c/o Care & Repair, 1 Osborne Terrace, Edinburgh EH12 5HG, Registered Charity Number SC042164, absolutely, the sum (amount in figures, amount in words) to be applied by Edinburgh Garden Partners for its charitable purposes, and I further direct that the receipt of the Hon. Treasurer or any other proper officer of Edinburgh Garden Partners for the time being shall be sufficient discharge to my executors.

For a specific item: I give to Edinburgh Garden Partners, Osborne House, c/o Care & Repair, 1 Osborne Terrace, Edinburgh EH12 5HG, Registered Charity Number SC042164, absolutely, (write in here whatever you wish to give) to be applied by Edinburgh Garden Partners for its charitable purposes, and I further direct that the receipt of the Hon. Treasurer or any other proper officer of Edinburgh Garden Partners for the time being shall be sufficient discharge to my executors.

The above is intended as a guide, we advise that you should consult a solicitor before making or amending your will.

A gift in your will is the most amazing gift of all and will help EGP achieve its vision. Every supporter leaving money in this way will be recognised on our website.
