Margaret and Simon

As my own garden is small and shady I am unable to grow vegetables successfully so was delighted when EGP offered me the opportunity to grow some in Simon’s old vegetable plot.

As he had grown older he had been unable to care for it and it had become overrun with brambles, horsetail, horseradish and several other perennial weeds. EPG arranged three SOS days to clear the tangled growth so that was a considerable help. I could then start to clear the perennial weeds in the soil while sowing seeds at my home to plant in a weeded area of Simon’s plot.

The result: after seven months Simon and I were enjoying some home-grown broccoli (and a cup of coffee), and there is spinach and broad beans to come. We are both looking forward to the new growing season.
